Preparatory & Advanced Preparatory Levels (Ages 5-7 years)
Acceptance into Ballet Russe BC’s Preparatory and Advanced Preparatory levels (ages 5 – 7 years) is not based on a formal evaluation or audition. Entry Level & Junior I (Ages 8-10)
All students ages 7 and up are required to partake in an assessment to ensure optimal level placement in our programme. Private evaluations must be scheduled ahead of time (drop-ins are not permitted). An audition fee of CAD $40 (including GST) is required and can be paid via cash, cheque, money order, or E-Transfer in Canadian currency, payable to “Ballet Russe BC”.
Junior II – Advanced II (Ages 11+)
Students interested in training in the Junior II Level and up are required to audition for acceptance and placement. An audition fee of CAD $40 (including) is required and can be paid via cash, cheque, money order, or E-Transfer in Canadian currency, payable to “Ballet Russe BC”. International & Video Auditions
Students unable to audition in person may submit a video application by way of sending a YouTube or Vimeo link to email@example.com with CAD $40 (including GST) audition fee via cheque, money order, or E-Transfer in Canadian currency, payable to “Ballet Russe BC”. Please note that online or DVD videos will not be reviewed until the audition fee has been settled. DVD auditions may be mailed to:

Online submissions should be no longer than 20 minutes in length and must demonstrate barre and centre work including adagio, tendus, pirouettes, grand pirouettes, petit, medium, and grand allegro, tours en l'air for men, fouettes and pointe work for ladies. A classical ballet variation may be included but is not mandatory.
The video should be begin with an introduction that indicates your name, age, and duration of classical training and pointe work (where applicable), the name of your current school, any accolades, awards, or scholarships received, participation in and results of any local an international competitions and festivals, and finally, any international summer intensive programmes that you’ve attended.
Female dancers should be in a solidly coloured leotard and full length pink tights, and male dancers in a white shirt/bodysuit and grey or black tights.
Candidates will be notified of the results of your audition by Ballet Russe BC Admin within 2 weeks of your submission.
