Pre-school ballet

(Ages 3-4 years)

Ballet Russe BC’s welcomes the littlest of ballerinas. This programme is the perfect place to learn ballet basics, creative movement and ignite their love for ballet.  Families who have any questions about our programme or who are interested in enrolling their children in Pre-School Ballet are welcome to reach out to us by email at info@balletrussebc.com or via our Registration page.

Preparatory & ENTRY Levels

(Ages 5-8 years)

Acceptance into Ballet Russe BC’s Preparatory and Entry levels (ages 5 – 8 years) is not based on a formal evaluation or audition. (please note that space is limited).  Families who have any questions about our programme or who are interested in enrolling their children in these levels are welcome to reach out to us by email at info@balletrussebc.com or via our Registration page.

Level I & 2

(Ages 8-11)

All students ages 8 and up are required to partake in an assessment to ensure optimal level placement in our programme.  Private evaluations must be scheduled ahead of time. For more information or to book an assessment, please reach out to us by email at info@balletrussebc.com or via our Registration page. 

Level 3 & 4

(Ages 11 - 15 years)

Students interested in training in Level 3 or 4 are required to audition for acceptance and placement.  For more information or to book a private audition, please reach out to us by email at info@balletrussebc.com or via our Registration page.

Level 5 & 6

(Ages 15 - 17 years)

Students interested in training in Level 5 or 6 are required to audition for acceptance and placement.  For more information or to book a private audition, please reach out to us by email at info@balletrussebc.com or via our Registration page.

post graduate training

(Ages 18+)

Students interested in pursuing Post Graduate dance studies are invited to contact us for further information.  Please reach out to us by email at info@balletrussebc.com or via our Registration page.                                                    

International & Video Auditions

Students unable to audition in person may submit a video application by way of sending a YouTube or Vimeo link to info@balletrussebc.com along with CAD $40 (including GST) audition fee via cheque, money order, or E-Transfer in Canadian currency, payable to “Ballet Russe BC”.  Please note that online or DVD videos will not be reviewed until the audition fee has been settled.  DVD auditions may be mailed to:

Online submissions should be no longer than 20 minutes in length and must demonstrate barre and centre work including adagio, tendus, pirouettes, grand pirouettes, petit, medium, and grand allegro, tours en l'air for men, fouettes and pointe work for ladies.  A classical ballet variation may be included but is not mandatory.   

The video should be begin with an introduction that indicates your name, age, and duration of classical training and pointe work (where applicable), the name of your current school, any accolades, awards, or scholarships received, participation in and results of any local an international competitions and festivals, and finally, any international summer intensive programmes that you’ve attended.

Female dancers should be in a solidly coloured leotard and full length pink tights, and male dancers in a white shirt/bodysuit and grey or black tights.

Candidates will be notified of the results of your audition by Ballet Russe BC Admin within 2 weeks of your submission.
